If you plan to study in Thailand, you will need a Non-Immigrant ED Visa (Student Visa). This guide provides a step-by-step breakdown of the requirements.

1. Types of Thailand Student Visas

For Bangladeshi students, Thailand offers the Non-Immigrant ED Visa, which is valid for 90 days initially and extendable for up to one year. Students must renew their visa yearly while studying in Thailand.

2. Thailand Student Visa Requirements for Bangladeshi Applicants

To apply for a Thailand Non-Immigrant ED Visa, you need to meet the following criteria:

A. Admission to a Recognized Thai Institution

  • You must secure admission to a Thai university, college, or language school that is recognized by the Ministry of Education (MOE) of Thailand.
  • The institution will issue an Admission Letter and necessary supporting documents.

B. Visa Application Form

  • A completed visa application form, available from the Royal Thai Embassy in Dhaka or online.

C. Valid Passport

  • Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months (if applying for a 90-day visa) or at least 18 months (if applying for a one-year visa).
  • At least two blank pages for visa stamping.

D. Passport-Sized Photos

  • Two recent passport-sized photographs (4×6 cm) with a white background.

E. Educational Documents

  • Copies of academic certificates and transcripts (SSC, HSC, Bachelor’s if applicable).
  • If applying for a Master’s or PhD, previous degree certificates are required.

F. Proof of Financial Support

  • A bank statement showing at least $5,000 – $10,000 (or equivalent in BDT) to cover tuition and living expenses.
  • Sponsorship letter (if applicable).

G. Letter of Admission from the University

  • The university or college must provide an official admission letter, confirming your enrollment.

I. Medical Certificate (If Required)

  • Some universities require a medical fitness certificate, issued within one month before application.

J. Police Clearance Certificate (PCC)

  • A No Criminal Record Certificate from Bangladesh Police is required.

4. Important Notes for Students

✅ Ensure that your passport is valid for at least 6 to 18 months before applying.
✅ You must report to Thai Immigration every 90 days to update your status.
✅ Working part-time on a student visa with permission is permissible.
✅ If changing institutions, you must apply for a new student visa.
